Educational Programs
The Edisto Island Serpentarium offers a variety of educational programs for all ages. These programs are designed to teach participants about the natural history and ecology of snakes and other reptiles. The programs are led by experienced educators and include hands-on activities, games, and crafts. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet some of the resident reptiles!
Feeding Programs
One of the most popular programs at the Edisto Island Serpentarium is the feeding program. This program allows visitors to watch as the staff feeds the snakes and other reptiles their meals. It’s a great way to learn about the eating habits of these creatures and see them up close! The feeding programs take place daily at 11:00 am and 12:00 pm.
A professional staff member will lead the snake program, teaching facts and dispelling some myths on our non-venomous and venomous snakes of South Carolina. They will also teach you what to do if you are ever bitten by a venomous snake.
Edisto Island Serpentarium’s Alligator program is also a favorite.
This program not only teaches you about these incredible creatures but also gives you the opportunity to see them up close! The Alligator program takes place daily at 11:30 am and 12:30 pm.
