Exciting news!
Efforts to move forward with planning the 65th Annual Beaufort Water Festival in 2021 are underway! Since postponing the 2020 festivities a year ago, we have all hoped for a return of the tradition, but understand that caution is a top priority.
The Beaufort Water Festival, and the City of Beaufort, understands that the safety of the attendees and volunteers remains paramount.
“The crew of volunteers who love Beaufort and work hard to bring this Festival to life every year are striving to make this all possible,” says Tank Morris, Commodore. “We appreciate all the continuous community support received so far, and hope we can make this happen!”
The details of each of our events will be fine-tuned and carefully planned with approval and input from the City, coupled with the support of our Sponsors and the community. The goal is to bring the community together and celebrate our Lowcountry life safely.
The pandemic has presented unique conditions for our crew to navigate, and the planning must remain fluid. Stay tuned for more details, which will be communicated via the Water Festival website and Facebook page and through partner communications and local news outlets. Please share your excitement and help spread the word! Registration is already live for the Annual Fishing Tournament in local waterways and the 5K/10K Race in Port Royal.
“When we chose ‘What a Beautiful Sight’ for the annual theme, we could not have imagined how the world would change. Now, in 2021, being together and enjoying Water Festival will be the most beautiful sight indeed!” says Commodore Morris.
